and Infinitives
Χρησιμοποιούμε τα γερούνδια (verb + ing):
- Μετά από συγκεκριμένα ρήματα - I enjoy singing
- Μετά από προθέσεις- I
drank a cup of coffee before leaving
- Ως αντικείμενο ή υποκείμενο πρότασης - Swimming is good exercise
Χρησιμοποιούμε 'to' + infinitive:
- Μετά από συγκεκριμένα ρήματα - We decided to leave
- Μετά από πολλά επίθετα -
It's difficult to get up early
- Για να δείξουμε σκοπό - I came to London to study English
Χρησιμοποιούμε γυμνό/bare infinitive:
- Μετά από modal verbs - I can meet you at six o'clock
- Μετά από 'let', 'make' and (μερικές φορές) 'help' - The teacher
let us leave early
- Μετά από ρήματα αισθήσεων (see,
watch, hear, notice, feel, sense) - I watched her walk away
- Μετά από εκφράσεις με το 'why' - why go out the night
before an exam?
